SAD DEMISE

Today, 6th November 2019, Manjummel Province paid an emotional and eternal farewell to our beloved Fr. Ossy Kalathil OCD who slept in the Lord last night. His departure has really shocked us. The heart touching final rite was begun at 3 pm by the solemn singing of the Vespers with the traditional heavenly melody at the Immaculate Conception Monastery Church, Manjummel. It was followed by the Holy Eucharist celebration, presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Verapoly, concelebrated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Karikkassery, Bishop of Kottappuram. Fr. Xavier Pappaliyil OCD delivered the homily. Many priests and sisters, his beloved family members, friends and well wishers, and hundreds of laity had flocked to the Church to express their love for Fr. Ossy. The final prayer at the cemetery was led by Bp. Joseph Karikkassery. The number of priests, religious, seminarians and laity who came to express their love for Fr. Ossy, shows his popularity and acceptance among them. To all of them, Manjummel Province would like to express its deepest sentiments of gratitude. May the Good God grant eternal rest to our beloved Fr. Francis Ossy. Hasta la vista!!!
