FLOOD RAVAGES OUR MONASTERIES
Our monasteries in Aluva, Annamanada, Kozhikode , Varapuzha and Kalamassery: they were all green and beautiful before 16th August. Sadly they are different now. The unprecedented flood havoc has turned everything muddy and murky. The land looks now war-torn after the anomalous rainfall. Our fathers and novices at Annamanada were stranded on the first floor and were rescued only the next day. Some members in other houses were marooned by the flood waters and had to seek asylum in the relief camp. The colossal calamity has caused immeasurable misery and devastation to our monasteries and surroundings. The furniture in the ground floor is totally damaged. So is the fate with the electronic equipments. We lost the cattle and other domesticated animals. The gardens and the cultivation are destroyed. It was a total dismay to our five monasteries
