30 FLOOD AFFECTED HOUSES WERE CLEANED BY 85 VOLUNTEERS
“Cleaning is not a glamorous job, only people with large hearts and tough mind can do it.”
Just as the flood-rescue mission, cleaning and sanitation activities too have become a voluntary effort in the flood-hit areas of the district. Social service department of our province organized a cleanup mission of families who are financially poor and deprived of the presence of strong men at home. Students from Philosophy college, Aluva, Theology college, Jyotir Bhavan and Fr. Antony Ponveli, Fr. Wilson Sarampickal Fr. Tittus, Fr. Thomas Marotti, Fr. Joseph Maroti, Fr. Varghese Kanichukatttu, Fr.Bosco coera, Fr. Hippolitus, Fr. Praveen D cúnja, Fr. Éarnest and Fr. Nixon formed a strong team of 85 to lead the mission. Nearly 30 houses at Manjummel, Eloor, Olanad, Muttinakam were cleaned in three days. It was a unique experience for everyone to feel one with the dejected people around us. This has strengthened them to texture that someone is with them in their misfortune.
